Emily Denbow Morrison is a high school English teacher, freelance writer, and editor from coastal Maine. Since 2000, Emily has been teaching teens, raising three children, and writing about teaching teens and raising three children. She also works as a graduate writing instructor.
Emily has written for Bangor Daily News, Bangor Metro, The Maine Edge, The New Maine Times, and the Journal of Maine Education. She has also worked as the head editor of Maine Writes, an anthology of writings by teachers involved in the Maine Writing Project and is a contributor to Lifehack.
Her writing about life as a full-time mother, teacher, and marathoner is often humorous, frequently insightful, and especially relevant to today’s working women. Currently, Emily is writing a book on teaching the unspoken curriculum: love.
Living her childhood dream, Emily welcomes opportunities to share the insights she has learned about life, love, and teaching with those who aspire to be transformative teachers.
